Visitor types

Configuring Visitor types enables different contact details to be collected from each type. For example you may not want to collect phone number and email address from staff, because the organization already has that information.

General Settings

  • Visitor Type: The overall category of the visitor.
  • Sub Type: A further specification within the main category.
  • Description: A brief description of this visitor type.

Host Selection

  • Enable 'Meeting With': Allows visitors to specify a host they are meeting.
  • Let Visitors Skip 'Meeting With': Provides an option for visitors to bypass the 'Meeting With' requirement. This is essential if the visitor may not know who they are visiting or the host is not in the Employee list.

Phone number or email address is necessary to collect to distinguish between people with the same names.

Additional Information

Capture photo on phone or kiosk at check-in. Will be displayed in the 'Who is here' report to help identify visitors. Image also used on the QR & photo printed badge.

Custom Check-in

There are two fields that are not intended for a specific purpose. They can be used to collect general information.

The Custom profile field stores the collected information in the profile on the person record in EVA Check-In. The mobile phone application does not retrieve this information at check-in time, so it will be requested on subsequent check-ins.

The Custom check-in field is updated each check-in in the kiosk and phone app.

Miscellaneous fields

Collect the number of visitors accompanying this single person.

Allow the visitor to indicate they need assistance in a site evacuation.

When you use this feature a small red cross will appear in reports. For example the 'Who is here' report.

Collect Reason for Visit

Disable printing of labels at the kiosk for this visitor type. For example staff may not need visitor badges.

Check a visitor out after a specified number of minutes. Blank or zero minutes indicates no automatic check-out after specified period.
