EVA Check-in mobile app

The free EVA Check-in mobile app makes checking in fast, easy and secure for visitors, contractors and staff. Read this guide to learn how to download and use the mobile app.
Note this is the guide to mobile app version 3.0 scheduled to be released 27 January 2026.

How to download the app 

Search for "EVA Check-in" in the relevant app store, or click the links below on your device.

App settings

Location access for auto check-in

When prompted, allow Location access. For geofencing to work, set Location to “Always” or “Allow all the time” so geofence (auto) check‑in/out works correctly. 

Location and privacy

If you are a mobile app user and have opted in, EVA Check-in doesn’t store your location or use it for anything other than to decide if a check-in or out event should be triggered. For more details, see the EVA Check-in privacy policy.

Your location will be used by the EVA app in the background. This permission is required for the app features to work and Apple and Android will remind you from time-to-time that the app is doing this. EVA Check-in does not store this information and it is not visible to administrators or users of the EVA product.

Notifications

When prompted, allow notifications (informational updates) so you get important messages during events like evacuations.

Checking in on the mobile app

There are three ways to check in using the mobile app

QR code

  • Open the app
  • Click Scan QR to scan the QR code displayed on the poster or kiosk using your device's camera
  • Complete check-in details

Geofence

On geofence-enabled sites, use your device's location features to check in automatically when you arrive at a location. Learn more

Nearby

If a nearby check-in location is detected, a "nearby" button appears on the mobile app, and you can click this to verify the site and initiate check-in.

Checking out on the mobile app

There are two ways to check out of a site using the mobile app:

Check out button

On the Check-ins screen, click Check out when you leave a site:

 

 

Geofence

On geofence-enabled sites, check out automatically when you exit the geofence, using your device's location features.

 

Certificates

View all of your certificates (e.g. induction, health & safety) across all sites from the Certificates tab. Filter by certificate type, company, site and expiry.

 

 

Notifications

The notifications tab provides easy access to all notifications sent to you while on-site - including daily alerts and emergency notifications.

Access Site info via the Check-ins tab

 

 

This is where you can view any essential information for your visit to site, for example - 

 

Check-in history

To see a record of recent check ins, go to History on the menu:

 

 

Profiles

If you need to check in with a group (e.g. family with children), or work across multiple organisations and have different details for each, you can set up a separate profile for each person/identity.

To do this, go to Profiles on the menu and click + Create

 

 

 

Additional options for some users

Users with special permissions may see additional buttons on the check-in screen, and an additional menu item:

 

  • You must have the relevant permissions assigned to you by the admin of the organisation you're checking in at
  • You must have completed a one-time device verification step. Learn more

1. SOS button

feature coming soon, available to preview on request

This button will allow you to trigger an SOS from the mobile app with just one click. Contact us for more information.

2. Evacuate button

This allows evacuation wardens to start an evacuation directly from the mobile app. Learn more

3. Who is here

This allows users with the Who is here permission to see who is currently on site.
